Bug with config file

Howdy,

Recently NR hasn't been working, this is the error:

Corrupt configuration file, trying to download a new one: SAXParseException: Invalid token in '/usr/share/net-responsibility/config.xml', line 1 column 113

This appears the be happening as my university's net landing page for authentication is downloaded instead of the config file. NR should check to see if it is in fact connecting to the right site before downloading the file, and if it isn't, retry again later. This could be abused using the /etc/hosts file to redirect NR's site to something else so the config file is tampered with but not sensed.

  • Hi!

Thanks for noting this. Your hypothesis sounds reasonable, and there is an obvious loop hole here. Could you please file this issue in the issue tracker too?
